Passed the Terraform Associate Exam

→ 日本語版を読む

Today (September 2022), I passed the Terraform Associate exam.

I had been wanting to use Terraform and had been experimenting with it for a while, but as I tried things, questions kept coming up. I decided it would be faster to study systematically, and since I was at it anyway, I decided to take the exam.

Since I had already read a Terraform book and was actually experimenting with it, exam preparation took about two weeks. I think even starting from zero knowledge, you could pass in about one to two months.

The main thing I did for exam prep was watching Udemy videos and taking practice exams. The Udemy lectures are in English, which makes them a bit challenging, but the explanations are step-by-step and very easy to understand. Best practices are also covered, which seems useful for practical work. There is some outdated information though (e.g., the version argument in the Provider block is now deprecated), and I caught up on those points through the Udemy practice exams.

I'll also note the book I read three months ago, as it was also helpful.

You can skip this if you're short on time. Reading it first should help you get into the Udemy lectures smoothly. When I read it, it was available on Kindle Unlimited, but it doesn't appear to be anymore.
